My Vision
Local Soul | Global Heart is the place where my creativity finds a home. The place where language and art are not only an expression of the personal but a way to connect with others.
Life is rooted in our every day experiences (local), that which sets us apart, what makes us unique. In essence, what gives us our soul. But these differences don't have to burn bridges. Instead, they gives us the opportunity to learn from others, to empathize, to recognize that we are part of a community (global). It's what makes us human, what gives us a heart.
Walk with me on this journey of embracing art and words, of making a translated short story or a canvas an avenue to transcend borders.

Art
Art was always my safe place, my therapy in the middle of chaos. But sometimes we let life take a hold of us and push us away from our genuine self.
In an effort to go back to my roots (see my blog), I've made it my goal to go back to this part of me that I love. It has, at the same time, been a learning experience, exercising that muscle that I set aside.
Back to My Roots (Blog)
A project I started in August 2017, to reflect a life-changing moment: I moved from the US (after 25 years) to Colombia. Inevitably, I ended up “Back to my roots": finding myself, where I came from, and what I really wanted to do.
Since then, life has thrown many challenges and changes my way. As a result, going back to my roots began to carry many meanings. Ultimately, writing has always been the most essential way to go to my roots, to make the noise away, but also to face the things I avoid.
